Protecting the Local Alps
Alpine herbs are the basis of who we are. That is why protecting the Austrian Alps is a matter of course for us. In close partnership with the Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV), we actively make a valuable contribution to preserving our mountain and Alpine pasture landscapes.
Among other initiatives, the "Clean Mountains" campaign was launched in 2010: all Alpine Club huts are equipped with rubbish bag dispensers. The organic bags made from biodegradable corn starch are available to hikers free of charge and are intended to encourage them to take their own rubbish, and rubbish left by others, down into the valley. It simply has no place in the mountains.

And because no path is too far and no mountain too high when it comes to protecting the Alps, we climb Austria's highest peaks every year to sign the "Manifesto of Clean Mountains" there. Our Almdudler Managing Director Gerhard Schilling is accompanied by mountain pioneer Peter Habeler and Ingrid Hayek, former Vice President of the ÖAV.
