Since its invention in 1957, Almdudler's proven original recipe has remained unchanged. The composition of selected Alpine herbs is still a closely guarded secret today. Its origin lies in the beautiful nature of the Alpine pastures: this is where herbs such as lemon balm, sage, gentian and elderflowers are gathered. Only after our strict quality checks are they processed further and their essential oils gently extracted. The mash is then allowed to take it easy for a while - it has to mature for several weeks so that the typical Almdudler aroma can fully develop.

Then comes the big moment: the Alpine herbal extract meets fresh, crystal-clear spring water and is brought to life with sparkling carbonation. All that is added is sugar and a splash of citric acid for the sweet-tart, refreshing taste. Honestly, it does not need anything more.

Almdudler is natural through and through - just as it should be. Good, honest taste does not need artificial frills such as flavours, colours or preservatives. The recipe is also made from 100% plant-based ingredients, reflecting the trend toward a conscious lifestyle. On top of that, Almdudler is certified with the European Vegan Label.

Today, Almdudler - both the Original and the sugar-free version - is filled in many different container sizes. For every occasion, every thirst and every situation in life. For the sake of the environment, we place particular emphasis on our reusable glass bottles. They can be refilled again and again for years, helping to save valuable resources and reduce waste. The best known among them is the iconic Almdudler shaped bottle (0.35l), which has been setting standards for almost 70 years. We also consciously rely on reusable glass for the larger 1l format. And in the spirit of sustainability, we have reduced the weight of our glass bottles. This saves around 1,200 tonnes of transport weight and more than 60 tonnes of greenhouse gases every year.
